Arenella
As one of the outcomes of the summer school in Palermo, which focused on creating and curating an exhibition from repurposed materials, Arenella – Quale futuro per l’Ex-Chimica documents the different phases and milestones of the program. Organized in collaboration with the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo (ABAPA) and fellow students from ETH, the exhibition centered on showcasing a spectrum of approaches and strategies to revitalize the Ex-Chimica site in Arenella, a small village in Palermo. These contributions were developed during the spring semester of 2025 as part of the Tom Emerson Design Studio. The physical exhibition itself, prepared in workshops held one week prior to the opening, aimed to distill the relevant themes and translate them into a tangible foundation on which the work could be presented.
